Read wi-Q’s feature in The Hotel Magazine exploring how mobile ordering and Guest Directory improve hotel guest experiences and drive additional revenue.

wi-Q is featured in the September 2026 issue of The Hotel Magazine, where our CEO, Patience Tucker, discusses how hotels can use digital ordering and guest engagement technology to improve convenience while driving additional revenue.

The feature, titled “Scan, Order, Spend,” explores how wi-Q fits into a hotel’s existing operations through mobile ordering and payments, Guest Directory, and self service technology.

Creating a more convenient guest journey

Today’s guests expect fast and convenient service throughout their stay. With wi-Q, guests can scan a QR code to browse menus, customise their order, pay using their preferred method, or charge the purchase directly to their room.

There is no app to download and no lengthy registration process.

The same experience can be used across room service, restaurants, bars, poolside areas, beaches, gardens, meetings, and events. Guest Directory also gives guests one place to access important hotel information, make bookings, and request items such as additional towels or toiletries.

With content available in more than 27 languages, hotels can provide a more accessible experience for international guests.

Turning convenience into commercial value

The interview also looks at the commercial impact of digital ordering.

wi-Q clients report an average 35% increase in order volume after moving from printed menus to digital ordering. Contextual suggestions, such as adding a side or pairing a meal with wine, can also increase average order value by up to 30%.

Guest Directory can support additional revenue by connecting guests directly with spa bookings, restaurant reservations, activities, and other services available during their stay.

The result is a smoother journey for guests, greater visibility for hotel services, and more opportunities to increase spend across the property.
